Is it possible that your physio makes your inflammation even worse by feeling the inflamed muscles?

    Taping
I have golfer's elbow. Went to see a different physio today. He put too much pressure with his thumb around the elbow. Now, my inflammation is much worse than before. Earlier I couldn't feel the inflammation myself unless some expert found it. Now, I can see it literally see the inflammation with my own eyes though it's not too bad. It hurts if I put a little more pressure on it while as earlier I had to put a lot of pressure for the inflammation to hurt me.

Now, did I just mess it up by changing my physio or is it just normal?

    Hi, systemd98!
So sorry to hear that you have such problems.

It can be so beneficial at times and at other times be potentially destructive. I have done PT generally directly after surgery or after a flare up. But I limit the time I will spend with them.
The initial sessions are generally not aggressive enough to hurt anyone. But as sessions continue (could be 2,3, or 4 weeks), they tend to move to more aggressive actions. You should talk to your doctor first to know his/her opinion. PT can mess you up. Most of the time under most situations, it is helpful. But the dividing line needs to be with yourself.

    Stay healthy!

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
How acute is the injury? Personally I wouldn't put too much pressure on the injured area in the acute phase, although light touch could be soothing. A good physio should know how to treat at different stages of recovery.
