how to start studying?

It's very hard to give the first step.
How DO YOU start studying?
The first thing I do is collect all the material that I have witch is relevant for studying...
After that I decide If I'm going to start studying thru the easy or hard part of the subjects.
And the last ....I get a list of all the subject I have to study (in this case the PCE reference)
