Hi I'm looking for ideas that can assist with assessment and treatment of a lady I am treating with an atypical carpal tunnel sydrome.
3/12 ago she experienced a sudden onset of sharp wrist and hand pain. "hot burning, electric shocks"
Since then the symptoms have progressed to the other wrist as well.
She is quite hesistant to manipulate objects or grasp with her fingers tips. The pain radiates into the middle three fingers of each hand.
ULNT's were negative. She has no loss of range/strength/muscle bulk.
I've had a look at her neck and it does not appear to be the source of symtoms. I'm at a loss with the sudden and severe onset of the symptoms. Nerve conduction studies report that she has moderate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I'm looking in particular for conservative treatments that may assist in controlling the patient's pain.
Thankyou.
