    Stroke UL assessment and treatment

    Hi

I am currently looking into Stroke UL and was wondering if anyone had found any books specifically useful with this topic. Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Ali

Re: Stroke UL assessment and treatment

    HI Ali

there aren't many books devoted just to upper limb stroke therapy. You generally need to look up good neurological physiotherapy texts and you will find chapters in these. I have found Shumway-Cook's textbook good and it has three chapters devoted to upper extremity theory, assessment and management 0 but it isn't just stroke related.

    There are others

However one of the more recent text books has a chapter devoted just to Task-oriented training for upper limb in stroke and this is the very successful revision of the constraint-induced movement therapy model. It is a very good chapter (17)
