Hi All,
3 weeks ago I had a bit of nasty fall from my mountain bike resulting in what the doctors called a severe collar bone fracture.
I have some xray photos but sadly i cant post them up due to forum rules yet so they will have to come in a little while
Basically my doctor whilst im sure he knows what is doing didn't have very strong English. I have it in a poly sling at the moment when i am out and about but for sleeping I am removing it as its hard to sleep when its on. From what i understood it has shown no sign of healing yet in 3 weeks, so I i have to keep the sling for a further 4 weeks before my next X-Ray
I would just appreciate it if anybody could explain how things are going to work out, and if there is anything i should/shouldn't be doing. particularly should i be attempting to move it at all...
Most of the pain has gone now so the arm is semi functional (however I haven't tried lifting it up to head hight or anything like that since its still not set or anything)
Is moving it ok? should it be kept to a total minimum or is moving it around ok? Anybody with similar experience of a fracture like mine would be appreciated and any advice with things I can do in the next 4 weeks to try ensure a better recovery would be great. From what I can tell the bone will be poking out my chest as a permanent feature
edit- got the pics working, click for the bigger version
