Exactly my thoughts reading your initial words. Or another fracture of the lumbar spine. As this is old it might not show on the plain x-ray so I wouldn't consider a -ve result to be entirely correct. Perhaps anpars interarticularis.MRI or Bone Scan could be taken if the plain films are negative.
