    outcome measurement tools for interventions for rheumatoid arthritis

    I’m writing a proposal for a trial to compare splinting with a physio regime of controlled exercise and heat in the treatment of pain, ROM & function in the wrists of rheumatoid arthritis patients.

    I've thought of

    * VAS for pain
    * Using a goniometer for ROM
    * For function…. patients’ subjective report of increased/decreased/same level of function such as the Arthritis Impact Measurement Scales 2 (AIMS2-SF) or the Health Assessment Questionnaire.

    Can anyone suggest any other relevant specific & validated outcome measurement ‘tools’ I could use?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    How about the short-form Mcgill Pain Questionnaire and/or the DASH (disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand questionnaire)

    Cheers for that. I'm a 2nd yr phyio student, so I'm still finding out about stuff like DASH - with the help of people like you - Thanks!
