Dear colleagues,

Sadly some of us will come into contact with children who suffer from malnutrition. Even though this website is mainly about the African continent, the knowledge gathered could be of importance to others.

The Federal Ministry of Health and UNICEF, Ethiopia have jointly developed an excellent set of training materials for their Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition and Out Patient Therapeutic Program. They are now available for download at Resources - Mother, Infant and Young Child Nutrition & Malnutrition - Feeding practices including micronutrient deficiencies prevention, control of wasting, stunting and underweight

They include:

- A step by step set of Outpatient Therapeutic Feeding Training Videos and Exercises (English and Amharic)
- Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition at Health Post level, Quick Reference for Health Extension Workers (English, Afar, Amharic, Oromifa, Somali and Tigrigna)
- Protocol for the Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition (English)
- How to Identify Acute Malnutrition in a Child? Screening Poster (English, Amharic, Oromifa, Somali, Tigrigna)
