    12 y o with low tone

    Cerebral Palsy In Infancy
    youg girl with very low tone, poor coordination overall. Have tried all sorts of balance exercises, added some weights.....some improvement noted but not much. any ideas?

    very low tone may be the primary problem or secondary to poor sensory perception and integration. i suggest to integrate sensory integration therapy to treat low tone. working in space will improve his proprioceptive awareness, moving in all planes, joint compression, bouncing on ball, motivating activity to keep the arousal through out the session are some of treatment principles which work better for low tone children
