Walking after bimal fracture
Hi everyone, I'm recovering from a bimalleolar fracture with interosseous membrane tear and significant soft tissue damage (I broke this while playing rugby). Immediately following my injury I went under surgery - the surgeon inserted a plate and pins into my ankle, along with a syndesmotic (sic?) screw to help stabilize the fracture. I was non-weight bearing for a little over 8 weeks, which was when I had a second surgery to remove the syndesmotic screw. My orthopaedist told me I could put "as much weight I can tolerate" onto this foot now, so I'm re-learning how to walk with a moonboot on. My problem is that, after two months on crutches, I'm having a hard time learning to walk again. Is there any exercise or techniques I could practice to make my learning any easier? Any help would be appreciated
