    Hallo,

    All right, apprantely may I can descreibe for you a conservative treatment:
    So you are able to walk independently,your age is ,,,,do you have sever pain you may got a contusion ,

    Ice,
    Eleveation of affected side above pillow while you are lying supine,level of elevation not above heart level,
    you may apply a bandage for area not too tight to give resolution for hematoma,
    Rest of affected area,no weight bearing at it for a time

    Dont panic,,,,smile...

    Thanks, but just a friendly FYI, we are now being told to use heat instead of cold after 24 hours to avoid clots. You are right about position, but I took it further by sitting with my leg raised. It is better, bruising pretty much covers entire lower leg, but I am going to have an X-ray today just to be sure. Thanks again for your quick answer to my call, many times more heads can come up with better solutions.
