Pain in outside of lower leg
I'm looking for some advice on what muscle/tendon this could be and possibly any exercises that could help the problem.
I occasionally get a sharp / ache / fatigue pain in the outside of my lower left leg. Its not exactly on the outside, more 1/2 between outside and back of my lower leg. And the pain is roughly 3.5-6 inches above my ankle. (I'm 5-5 if that matters)
It typically starts to hurt when I am wearing a tight fitting motorcycle track boots. The boots are shin high. If I just stand there it doesn't hurt but the second I get into riding position (sport bike) with the ball of my foot on the peg the pain comes a minute or 2 later. I can slightly relieve the pain if I put my heel on the peg.
The other time it hurt was when I went snowboarding. It got to be extremely painful by the time I got to the top of the ski lift. It was the leg strapped into the snowboard hanging down and the weight of the board slightly bending the foot inward and down. The pain immediately went away after I unbuckled the boot to relieve all pressure and would very slowly go away if I just stood there.
It doesn't hurt when I run, ride a bike, walking or do any other physical activities. Only wearing tight fitting shin high boots w/ extended pressure on the ball of your foot, even minor pressure.
So from my description can any one tell me what tendon or muscle that is? Along with any possible long or short term exercises I can do to help avoid the pain?
Thanks for your help!
