I was diagnosed with a tumour in my right hip, and 4 months ago had an operation to remove the whole of my right gluteus medius and 40% of gluteus maximus. I was fortunate to find an excellent physio who worked with footballers in the UK. I have now returned home to Hong Kong, and I would like to find a physio to work with me to improve my posture and gait. I have an upper body compensatory shift, and perhaps a mild Trendelenberg gait. I am also doing pilates and ballet as part of my rehab. Ideally, I would like to find someone who has training and experience in sports rehabilitation, postoperative rehab, or a specialist interest in gait and mechanics of the hip. The excellent physios I worked with in the UK were all trained in Australia. My goal is to walk normally down the aisle as I am getting married in February! Can someone point me in the right direction for a good physiotherapist? I'm lost cos 1) spoilt for choice, not sure how to choose 2) need someone who works in Central 3) desperate to have a near-perfect gait for the window of opportunity closes! 4) receptionists I've sent emails to don't seem to reply, and when they do, they don't seem to always know who in their practice is best suited to me!
