how is my L5 area making my neck n shoulder tight ?

i have had a very tight stiff neck n shoulders n upper chest near my collar bone for years, something in or near my L5 is causing it, i know this because i have been treated there n felt cured for a few days but then it comes back but when i get treatment again it does nothing the a few months later it helps again.
any help would be great !!!!!!!! again it
