    Brief Medical History Overview

Exclamation Problem I would like help with

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi,

I have a consistant problem in which my muscles seem to be giving up on me,

The problem seems to be in my two sides and the Muscles along my side are very tight leading to me being exhausted when doing any type of excersise,

I constatly get Muscle twitches in my Quads, Calfs, Glutes. The tightness seems to go up my side into my arms as well, so when doing any work with my arms is really exhausting very quickly,

I think the problem is coming from the side of my Torso and refering down my legs and up into my arms, My hips seem to be taking the most abuse when I run, and flexibilty is very low in my hips as well.

Its hard to explain as it is affecting so many of my muscles including my back and chest being really tight

Has anyone any information that might help me with this?

    Regards
    John

    Dear Joboyle50

Have you just sustained an open injury? do your jaws feel tight as well? how long have you had this problem and when did it start?
sounds like a systemic problem...without too much info given the following come to mind

Tetanus infection, or a steady emergence of a variant of muscular dystrophy

any problem like this in the family? are you finding yourself clumsy waling on your legs? are you falling for no reason where it seems your balance is off for no reason?

Exclamation Re: Problem I would like help with

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply,

I've had this problem for a few years now, But it was cured at one stage by a physician when I went to one complaining of tight Quad muscles, He got me on the Physio table and began to bouce my quads and after 10mins of this I got off the table and my Glutes felt strong and when I got home I got under neath the Door frame and put weight down my leg releasing all the tightness in my legs which cured my ilness, it was perfect for 6 weeks untill I went on a long cycle and the next day my muscles were retracting back to how they were before, really tight and motion restricted!

I have been to a neurologist and all has came back clear,

The feeling i have down my legs is a restless feeling with tingling in my muscles, and yes my Jaws and neck shoulders all tight and restricted from full movement and rotation.

My biggest problem is underneath the glutes top of the hamstrings when I run, there seems to be no support and my hips are taking the brunt when I run.

My feet are really tight as well, I have very tight IT bands, I can also Cramp most muscles by flexing them which shouldn't happen really

I am getting some releif of late by holding in my sides in towards my core just above my 2 hips,

I think the whole problem may have something to do with my two sides above my hips?

    Regards
    John

    Dear joboyle50

No clear pattern comes to mind im afraid...it may be helpful if you tell us what the physician and neurologist have both said to you, what tests you have gone through, whether this problem is occurring on both sides, whether you have seen a physio before...what you mean by all has come back as clear, any previous accidents

It might be a good idea to visit a physiotherapist in the meantime to get a proper assessment, im not sure you would get a good feedback from just what you have said sofar...

if you feel you have to support your torso to get relief, have you tried a lumbar support to see whether this helps?

Tingling sensation, twitching muscles, etc all point to a neurological problem, could this be as a result of an unstable spine? like i said its, not flagging any patterns in my mind....
