Hi

For about the last 3mths I have been experiencing a severepain in my right tibia. I have Rheumatoid arthritis and I know what that painfeels like, the pain in my tibia is totally different.

I do have trouble walking due to my RA but this pain makesit worse. It is a really painful dull ache all of the time with occasionally asharp pain; it feels like someone is gnawing on the bone. The area where thepain is warm to touch compared with the rest of my leg, also again where thepain is my leg goes in. In a way it looks like the bone is been eaten away.Sometimes the pain is so bad that I wish I could have my leg chopped off, Iknow this sounds extreme but that is how bad the pain is.

I am always in pain with this but it is worse when walkingor if I sit for more than 45mins with restricted leg movement. Also, when thepain is bad my leg feels very heavy like it is in an iron cast and sometimesfrom below my knee the leg goes numb and sometimes I get a swelling but not all the time.

I have been to see my GP, he sent me for an x-ray, which wasnormal, and he is now referring me for an ultra sound. He cannot give me anytablets as I take so many for my RA, so he has given me some pain relief cream, this does not seem to be working.

It is getting worse and I am starting to worry about it. I have not knocked it, banged it, or had an accident and I have never broken it.

Hope you don’t think I am over reacting by what I have said,I just want to get across, how bad the pain is.

Thank you.

Kaz.
