Hi there,

Before I go bother my doctor I thought I would get some opinions on what maybe I'm doing wrong and how I can speed up my recovery.

Last year I was off work for a good two months as I strained a ligament in my knee, I can't remember which one the doctor said but it feels like my whole knee area was affected. I had plenty of rest and it healed quite nicely. Over the past year I could still feel a tiny bit of pain every time I woke up in the morning. I think this is because when have no movement in the knee the ligament can seize up causing slight discomfort for a few minutes until I get some movement to it.

I started playing football recently and I was doing quite well for a few months but then I damaged my knee again. I can't remember what really happened but this was around 2 months ago and my knee is still in a lot of pain.

I doesn't hurt when I walk and I can light jog with minimal pain but when I try to turn or if I clip my foot while running or going up stairs I get a high amount of pain and I have to stop for 5 minutes until it settles down.

I try to do light exercises now and again like lunges or frog jumps up the stairs to try and strengthen it up but nothing seems to be working.

It's been 2 months of rest and I'm not sure what I can do next to get it to heal.

Any help would be appreciated.
