Hi all,
After back in training from a small chest tear Chest recovery and Hernia, ive had problems with my left shoulder from the majority of pressing motions.
Been to physiotherapy today, and he has said that i have an inflamed supraspinatus. He said the cause of this is due to the lack of muscle surround the supraspinatus, such as small bicep and front and side delts.
He has told me to work through the the pain and carry on with my normal routine if bearable for a good month with the exception of side lateral raises, and if i don't see progress i should go back.
I should note im currently only using light weights (10lb dumbbells) due to a recent hernia operation.
I'm just concerned i could aggravate it more and make the situation worse.
Your thoughts are welcome, but i think ill do as he says for the month as see if i can made any progress.

If you do the exercises and it stays painful several days then it is too much. The supraspinatus is 1 of 4 rotator cuff muscles or shoulder stabilizers and if there is any RTC injury/weakness the it will bang(nt PT approved nomenclature)the bony arch above it.
Upper ribs or cervical problems can mimic Sx but a good exam can rule these out or in
The suggestion you were given is reasonable to try. If it starts to get worse and worse STOP
