Hello,
I'm hoping somebody here could really help me out
I got into a car accident about four months ago where I was rear ended at a stop light, I felt my whole back tense, I went to the E.R immediately and they took xrays which came out clean. I originally went to a chiropractor and it felt worse after a few visits, so I started going to physical therapy. It was unbelievably unbearable pain and even with the muscle relaxers I was in tears almost everyday. After six weeks the physical therapy told me since I don't have leg pain it can't be anything serious and sorta released me. He didn't believe me when I told him how much pain I was in sometimes. So I kept doing the exercises every night and they really didn't help. It hurt really really bad sitting and also when walking but not as bad. After three months it stopped very bad and I went to a new doctor who sent me to another physical therapist. This physical therapist tested my leg strength while I was laying on my stomach and extending my leg and noticed I have weakness in my right leg(She was able to push it down VERY EASILY) and also restricted range of motion. So I've been going to this phyical therapist for a month and after a month my ROM is normal my leg strenght is sorta normal but my pain hasn't improved in a month. Well she told me without telling me whats wrong with me that my strength might continue to improve but my pain might not ever go away.
So my question is could anyone help tell me whats wrong please and will I ever be pain free again?
Symptoms-
weakness when extending leg backwards
I've noticed my hamstring is very tight in same leg
Straight Leg Raise test is negative, I think, it doesn't cause any pain in my back or leg, but I could only raise my right leg to somewhere around 35-40 degrees before my knee has to bend
I've felt spasms and my muscles are always really tense.
This is embarrassing but I believe it to be relavent, after the car accident I had complete erectile dysfunction for 6 weeks.
Could somebody please help me!?

I could be a really extreme form of muscle strain, but really the only way to know for sure would be to talk to a specialist. A friend of mine had some pretty intense muscle trauma after getting into a car accident and it took a few months for him to start to feel better. Luckily he worked with a personal injury lawyer to get compensation because he was off of work for like 3 months, and the physiotherapy was crazy expensive.
