Hello,
I have been experiencing a preoccupying problem recently.
I have been weightlifting for 3 years, mainly doing dips and push-ups. I recently began gymnastics-oriented training and bought rings.
After having stopped sport for a month around christmas, I started training again using rings and doing full range of motion dips and exercises such as pull-ups in an horizontal position (front lever) with retracted scapula.
About 2 weeks ago I noticed the clavicle on my right side makes popping "in-and-out" sounds, where it attaches to the chest. There is no pain but it feels like the end of the clavicle is a bit unstable and goes out too much when I retract the shoulder blades, then pops back in while rubbing on the chest bone when I protract the shoulders. If I keep my hand on it, I can sort of guide it so it does not pop.
Elevation/depression does not seem to be a problem.
Would you have suggestion of self-assessment, rehab exercises I could try ?
I was also wondering which specialist I should consult for this : osteopath, physiotherapist, chiropractor ?
There is a renowned chiropractor in my town, Göttingen, so I was planning to go, but I read on the wikipedia page of chiropraxis such things as : based on unscientific assumptions (subluxation), no evidence of efficacy,... Also they focus a lot on the spine, which I guess is not really related to my problem.
I thank you a lot for any advice you could give me.
