Major problem / Symptomatic Areas
Calf, Achilles - Posterior - Left
Foot - Posterior - Left
My Flexor Hallucis Longus tendon snapped just below the ankle. The doctor said he would us a cadaver tendon or he would attach it to the Flexor Digitorum Longus tendon, which operates the other 4 toes. He said he would decide upon opening the area.
Before surgery, only the tip of my big toe didn't move. He said I should regain between 50 and 75% movement.
After surgery, he said he had indeed attached the broken tendon to the FDL tendon.
It is now 6 weeks into recovery. I am just now into a plastic boot. But, the tip of my big toe is not moving. The other 4 toes are moving at 40%. It is still slightly swollen and I am icing it daily.
Has anyone had this type of experience? I'm starting to get worried.
