So I initially broke my scaphoid skateboarding on March 10th. They had originally put me in just a cast and said I didnt need surgery, but I went snowboarding on it and the bone separated. I needed up having surgery to get a screw put in on April 1st, I w er not back to the doctor on April 21st and got another xray and the doctor said it looked like it was healing well and put me in another cast. This cast I am set to have on until May 15th and then I go back to the doctor for more Xrays. My wrist occasionally stings, but nothing serious. I have been able to put weight on it without any pain and my cast still allows me to touch all my fingers (except my pinkie) to my thumb. Anyway, I start a job doing trail maintenance for American Conservation Corp on June 4th. It is not something I want to miss as it was a competitive position to get a job with and it is paid and gives a college scholarship, plus it will be really fun. I am planning on doing the job weather or not my wirst is fully healed, but strongly hoping that it will be healed. I am a 24 year old, active and healthy Male with a pretty high pain tolerance. I just want to know, will I be ready to start my job on June 4th? It will definitely require a lot of work from my wrist as I'll be clearing trails of debris and what not. Am I going to hurt my chances of fully healing by doing this job?
