I had surgery on my fractured radius (distal) and got a nerve block. The block finally started to wear off 30 hours later. I'm now almost at 4 days post op. My thumb index and flipper offer fingers are quite numb still. I have been exercising, icing, and decreasing norcos and supplementing with ibuprofen as directed. I am concerned about this finger numbness. I sometimes feel the nerves trying to activate like an itch on the inside but very little progress otherwise. I have full use of the arm otherwise.
Is this going to just work itself out? Should I do anything now?
I called the doctor when the block hadn't even started wearing off at 20 hours and she said not to worry.
Thanks,
Kathy
