    Managing back pain?

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I thought I had a kidney stone/infection, and I was surprised when I went to the doctor and found out that I had a back strain. I never thought a back strain could hurt in on the general spots, but my lab results came in fine, so he said my kidneys are fine. The only way I could has strained my back would be picking up my son sometimes. How can I deal with the back pain without using pain med? How long does it normally take for a back strain to heal?

    Re: Managing back pain?

    Hi Justin,

Back pain will normally settle in most people within 6 weeks but we know from research that the effects of untreated back pain can be long-lasting.

Please see a physical therapist to assist in your recovery, pain management and rehabilitation.

The job of your physical therapist is to improve your healing quality and hopefully speed of recovery.

    Good luck!
