Physiotherapy technical instructor - advice needed

    Hi,

Ive recently applied for a job as a technical instructor within the NHS and have been successful in getting an interview. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice regarding what the job involves and any interview tips.
I have a BSc (hons) sports therapy, as well as sports massage, personal training and a level 3 course in exercise programming for people with disabilities.

Currently working has a PT and sports therapy work with a rugby team and private clients

Re: Physiotherapy technical instructor - advice needed

    Hi,

It depends on what area you are going to be working in? Basically you will be given some freedom to assess pts, develop and deliver exercise programs, issue and assess mobility aids, refer to relevant external services, progress and monitor pts ex's and also undertaking general admin duties. All of this will be under guidance from the senior physio/OT. You should talk about any relevant fitness training, developing ex programs, leading ex classes, knowledge of the human anatomy, plus all of your obvious exp gained so far. you need to recognise your limitations as a tech instructor and also observing/shadowing physio's in the workplace would be a big bonus.

    Good luck...

Re: Physiotherapy technical instructor - advice needed

Hi i have currently the same interview but in the MSK outpatients department, does anyone have any tips? if it was a group interview or a individual one. Also we have been told to come prepared to give our views on the challenges of rehabilitation while working in a inpatient hospital environment. I would appreciate it very much if anyone could help me!
