I am working in a hip and knee replacement clinic and using a goniometer daily to measure these joints.
It is usual to state the anatomical markers, eg greater trochanter, lateral malleolus to establish the mid-line of the joint.
Also I have read papers re inter-examiner reliability of goniometer measurements (for the knee). One cause of this is where the testers choose as their fulcrum, as the fulcrum of knee flexion changes during movement. Any other views/comments on this?
