ACL reconstruction- to brace or not to brace

    Hi,

Seems some surgeons/hospitals chose to brace post acl reconstruction and some don't. Evidence suggests at 2, 5, and 10 years follow up it makes no difference, so should we brace?

Would appreciate any info re: do they brace or not where you're working/are on placement etc.
    THANKS!!!
    C

as you say we have massive variation within one dept of different surgeons. Some no brace at all, and in my experience no problems as a result....certainly helps with patients who tend to overguard, protective, learn new/incorrect motor patterns as a result....a bit like when you ask a patient to walk with crutches and it destroys them completely!
