Hi,
I am an almost qualified UK physio but I am also an Australian citizen. I want to move back to Queensland as soon as I qualify in June. I have therefore been trying to contact the state registration board as well as the APA to see if it is possible to gain registration on a UK qualification without PG experience but no-one will give me a definitive answer - they keep referring me back and forth between the two.
Does anyone know the answer to this? If I do need work experience, how can I get it in Oz without registration? Staying in the UK to gain the experience is not an option.
Many Thanks
KF

Hi,
the answer is really not that difficult.
Anyone with a Physio education can apply at the APA for an interim certificate, which gives you access to registration. You will then have to register in the state you'd like to work in.
The APA assessment has got 3 stages:
1) assessment of your documents
2) the written assessment
3) the clinical assessment
Once you've passed the all, you get your certificate.
And to your other question:
the answer is: NOT AT ALL., how can I get it in Oz without registration?
APA has got an excellent website which explains the whole procedure in detail

Good luck,
