I have a question for the APC, I was wondering how come they make it so hard for overseas candidates to practise here when they are so much needed in Australia. Some or most candidates have a genuine background of a good 3 year degree from a well developed country and good post-graduate experience. How comes they still have to go through the painful and expensive process of going through the asessment when they are perfectly legititimate in countries like UK n USA. I am losing my hope for my own physiotherapy skills now as it has been such a long and painful process and I just want to kindly ask these questions and hope they can be answered...

I am not sure whether to just leave the profession or actually keep going and try and keep my head down and find a way I can practise in Oz... It doesnt make sense to me as I started off wanting to help people as I believe Physiotherapy is a caring profession and now I am losing my hope in it and feel like maybe I am doing the wrong thing in the wrong profession?

I am also wondering why the Substansive equivalence assessment is not valid for a BSc from the UK which is 3 years are we not good physios like the Australian 4 year graduates? I mean a 3 year graduate with 2:1 degree from the UK may be heaps better than a graduate with a 4 year 3rd class honours degree from OZ? I dont understand why?

Any answers would be much appreciated
