Can limited reg. be converted to full reg?

Hi people

Just wondering, if once you do get the limited reg. and you do manage to find some work and work for the 12 months after which the reg will expire, can you transfer over to the full reg without having to do all the written and clinical assessments? or do you have to carry on renewing this forever?? Im really just trying to find a way to avoid all the competency tests, the written/clinical assessments because its a whole load of work.

additional info : newly graduate from UK June 2011.
