Yes, you can work in Aus without doing a days work in NZ- a loop-hole I am sure the AUS physio board is trying to close!
Hi I would be appreciative if anyone can give me information. I have New Zeland physio registration-would I be able to register in Australia through the transtasmanian agreement without having working in New Zealand?

Yep did it myself, you have to have the nz registration the first year and then it is reccomended you stay on the non-practicing register in NZ if this is where you got your degree. Employers over here seemed very happy to accept a NZ new grad without experience when I came over 5 years ago. Some states have different rules though so check before you come over, to get registered in WA for example (5 years ago-not sure now) you had to register in NSW first then WA. Good Luck!
Thanks for the info guys! Even though its a loop hole I'm sure that not many people go that route because getting New Zealand registration is no easy feat!
I agree with you Nicola, I think I would rather take the written & clinical exams than doing the competency charts which is time consuming and taxing not just mentally but physically as well. But I believe going thru the australian registration is worth it....
