Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
    Hi all,

I would like to know what insurance is used by most physios in NSW? Any ideas? What about AON and Physiosure? Which is the best? Planning to get one this week so I would appreciate it if any of you guys can help me out regarding this matter.

    REgards,

Re: INSURANCE FOR PHYSIOS in NSW

The best bet is to buy your insurance with the Physiobase "Physiosure" policy. You can buy it online easily at http://www.physiosure.com

You also get a free annual subscription to MyPhysioRehab (online exercise prescription) and free listings on Physiobob.com with your insurance (valued well over $600). Look no further

All Physiosure PI/PL policies have unlimited run-off cover.

BUT in all cases run-off cover is for people who no longer want to ever! practice again as a physio. This is what run-off cover is for. The Physiosure SleepEasy cover is designed for people taking a break e.g. to have a child or travel overseas. It maintains the cover should a claim be made against the therapist for past work. Thus the Physiosure SleepEasy cover provides another option that the others don't. To have such cover with other PI/PL providers you just need to keep paying for a full practicing level of cover. Physiosure deems that as an over-charging of the ongoing risk and so made the SleepEasy policy to provide a better, more affordable alternative

    From the Physiosure FAQ's:

Does the policy include run-off cover?

Yes, the policy includes unlimited Run Off cover. That means that if a private practitioner has insurance with CGU immediately prior to ceasing practice, the policy will cover any claims that may arise in the future (provided the relationship between Physiobase.com and CGU remains in existence).

What is the Sleep Easy Policy?

This policy is a special product we have developed for existing Physiosure customers who might be leaving the Australian physio workforce for a period of time but do plan to return.

The level of cover is based on the current level of PI/PL that you currently have with Physiosure.com when switching to the Sleep Easy cover.

This might be due to the following examples:

    • Maternity Leave

    • Travelling / Working Overseas

If this is you then a Sleepeasy policy could be for you.

    Sleepeasy Policy - Explained

A yearly policy designed to cover physiotherapists for their past work while they are not working. This is important as a claim can be made against a practising physiotherapist for years after they cease working.

To assist you to maintain protection without having to pay for full coverage whilst on maternity leave or working overseas we have developed this unique product. The policy can - be renewed yearly if required.

If the policy - holder wishes to return to part / full time work while they are still on a Sleepeasy policy, the policy can be upgraded at a pro-rata rate to the desired full or part-time level of cover.
