    Hi,

Thanks for your offer to help those of us still on the way to completing our registration!!

I would really appreciate advice on how you filled out your competency templates and also the type of evidence you used to back up your work experience?

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

My email address is [email protected] or I can pick up any messages on here.

    Many thanks

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi Nat

Thanks very much for the offer of helping those who are currently trying to undertake the process of applying for registration in New Zealand. I'm finding the whole process quite daunting and would appreciate any help with regards to what to include evidence wise in the competency sections. My email address is [email protected]. Plus how easy did you find it to get a job once you were registered??

    Thanks in advance

    Sara

    Hi Nat,

I've been slowly working at my application for a few weeks now and THANK GOD I finally stumbled across this site. I'd really appreciate help with the competency templates-how much detail in each row etc. If you'd be willing to share a template, that would be amazing! My email is [email protected]

    Congrats on getting your registration!

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi all,

I started doing my NZ physio registration forms 3 years ago, but they got side lined. I have lots of info on reflective statements (from the old format application) if anyone would like any help. In return if anyone could guide me on the level of detail required on the new format competency statements I'd really appreciate it. Email address is [email protected]

    Thanks

Red face Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi all,

Congratulations on the physiotherapy registration! I'm English, studied at Kings College London, and worked for the NHS for five years. I am currently on a working holiday visa in Australia doing other work, but want to apply for my NZ registration, and transfer it over to Australia at a later date.

The whole process looks quite daunting, let alone all my documents being back home making life a lot harder! Any advice on how you completed it, how long it look you to get everything together, and how you did the competencies/evidence would be a massive help.

    Many thanks

    My email is [email protected]

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi Nat,

Big congrats on getting your reg! I'm in Melbourne at the moment and I'm starting my NZ reg now but I don't even know where to start! I'd really appreciate any help, tips or examples on how you did yours. Does everybody have to do the medical check?

Also, does anybody know if there is a minimum time that you need to work in New Zealand for once you get your registration? I would like to transfer it to Australia as soon as possible but I wouldn't mind working in NZ for a little while if this is required?

Thanks for your help, my email address is [email protected]

You do not need a medical check for your registration at all.

Don't mix up immigration with registration - 2 completely different things.

I don't know how long the minimum period is, only, that you have to sign a declaration that you intend to practise in NZ. The APC in NZ costs $255,- - you might as well want to work for a while to make the APC worthwhile...

    Good luck!!!

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi all
I am in the process of filling in my New Zealand registration form and am a bit daunted by the process. I have been qualified for 10 years and have specialised in paediatrics for 6 years. I would really appreciate and help or advice from anyone regarding the form in particular the competencies as I do not want to make them too specific to treating children. I do have experience in the other core areas. We really want to give our own children a better life and would love to get the form right first time. If you can help I would really appreciate it - my email is [email protected] - many thanks for reading this

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Thanks so much Fyzzio,

I just have another question to any Irish physio's on this thread- I'm really confused about the police clearance/criminal conviction record/data protection access application.. which one do we have to do?? I have called the reg board but I'm still none the wiser, it seems they are looking for a bit of each. Is the data protection access enough??

I would really appreciate help on this,

    Thanks all!

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi All,

I'm really stuck. Could anyone advise on how to complete the middle section. Does anyone have any examples of how to relate it to your CV and your referee? Also competency 9 has confused me. Any advice on how to complete that would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Annika

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi Nat,

Well done on your registration, it looks like you are a great source of help reading the threads. It would be great to get in touch with you as like some of the others I am finding the competency forms quite daunting.... I have experience in all areas, but have been working abroad now for over 4 years in musculoskeletal physio so my respiratory and neuro experience is quite dated. My email address is [email protected], would you be able to drop me a line? Many thanks!

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi everyone,

Great to hear that everyone else is in the same boat! I am overwhelmed with information at the moment and really not sure where to start. I'm currently working in a rural area near Melbourne and could really use some help with how to start these competencies. The other problem I have which I see others have is that since graduating, I have only worked in MSK!! Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can manage this in my CV. I would really appreciate any help or forming an e-mail group so that a few of us can do this together. I really want to get on top of my application asap.

Please contact me on [email protected]

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi All,

I am now towards the end of completing the competencies, and can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Just wanting some advice about section one of the competencies, I have referenced the modules from my university course transcript as it states. I have saved all my essays and markers comments from uni and I also have copies of my clinical educators assessor sheets from my placements, can these be put in section one as they are from my undergraduate study or would they count as pieces of evidence and should be in section 3?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Leanne :-)

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Dear Nat,

I am a Dutch physio busy gathering info for my registration. As many on this forum I struggle with the templates. I run the risk of being to elaborate in my answers. This is what I think they want:

Row 1 -> refer to curriculum of my college, academic transcript and my clinical experience
Row 2 -> refer to experience as a working phyios (validated by referee)
Row 3 -> any assignments, courses, and examples from work experience??

Is this how you did it? Could you perhaps send me an example of one of your templates so I could have a look at the structure you used?

Any help would be very welcome, my email is [email protected] .

    Thank you, Geert

Re: NZ Registration in 10 weeks

    Hi All,

I have been attempting to complete the registration process for pretty much the last year! Doing it in bits and bobs has been a nightmare, every time I go back to it from a period of not doing it I think I'm doing it all wrong! It's driving me mad! I just wondered if anyone out there just had examples of some of their supporting evidence they wouldn't mind sending through, as I keep going round in circles trying to figure out what thet are actually asking for?

    My email is: [email protected].

Any information would be greatly apprciated, I am also happy to help out in any way possible, I think the best way of getting through the mammoth application is by helping each other out.

    Thanks a lot.

    Dave

    Hello
My name is Sandhya . I graduated from India and got my registration in Canada and I recently applied for Registration in Newzealand and The Physiotherapy Board’s Assessors have made an initial assessment of my application . They requested more information to demonstrate that you have met (within the past ten years) the Physiotherapy practice thresholds: Foundational abilities
    1. Physiotherapy practitioner
    2. Professional and ethical practitioner
    3. Communicator
    4. Reflective practitioner and self-directed learner
    5. Collaborative practitioner

I also got feedback from the board regarding each component. I would really appreciate any assistance in filling threshold template form. Kindly advise me .
