Canadian Trained PT Looking to Work in NZ - Where to Begin?

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
    Greetings Physios!

I am a Canadian Master of PT graduate (2013) who is looking to work in NZ but I really don't know where to begin. Could anyone who is familiar with this process point me in the right direction as to where to start?

I'm wondering if Canadian-trained PTs need to sit an exam or complete a practical exam or is there an exemption like other Countries provide?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated so I can start what sounds like a long journey to become registered to practice in NZ!

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.

    Kate

    Hi Kate,
google is your friend. If you put in "Physio, nz", the first hit is the NZ Physio Association, the second one the Physioboard.
You need to register with the NZ Physiotherapy Board. Go to "For Physiotherapists", then "Registration", then "Overseas Qualified Physiotherapists" and you will find all the information you need. It's not a long journey, it's pretty straight forwards.

Applying for Registration | Physiotherapy Board New Zealand

    Good luck,
    Fyzzio
