Exclamation Letter of validation/Clinical Reference for a private practice set up

    Hi
I am a physiotherapist from India and currently in the process of compiling materials for NZ registration( I have completed Masters in Aus and have overseas work experience too- guess would help me wipe the Indian physio stigma).

The question is, currently i am having my private practice for six months and before that i was the head of the physiotherapy department for 4 years. So i am not sure how to go about with the validation of work and Reference, which needs to be from the current or recent employer and the person providing the letter should be a physiotherapist in a senior position. I did not had a physiotherapist in a senior position in my recent employment and do not have in my current practice as well.

Would appreciate if anyone can suggest me with the solution for this issue of mine.

    Many Thanks
    Sam

    Hi,
the reference from a Senior Physio, I believe, only refers to competencies 1 - 4.
Do you have any colleagues, that could validate your skills?
Who is/ has been doing your peer reviews or performance appraisals every year? Get those people to write a reference/ validation.
For all other competencies, you could get work validation e.g. from your manager (hospital). For work validation in private practice, you could also choose a GP or Specialist, who refers clients on to you. They won't be able to confirm your skills as a Physio, but they will be able to comment on how happy they are with the results.
    Hope this helps,
    good luck,
    Fyzzio
