I am in process of applying for registration with the NZ PhysioBoard (PBNZ).
As far as past opinions I have received, registration for Indian physios is not easy as they really scrutinize our undergraduate syllabus of physiotherapy from India. I would really appreciate responses from any Indian physios out there who have procured registration with PBNZ successfully.
The FAQs on the PBNZ website is helpful to read.
There is no fixed timeframe as to registration procurement. The application process is definitely Not Easy and the compilation of all evidence etc. will definitely take at least more than a month, including reflective statements, etc.
As far as what I can see, it is essential that we put forth a Strong Case in our application to PBNZ for registration.
Competencies which can pose great challenges to our application based on our undergrad syllabus include Autonomous Practice.
It would be harrowing to receive a rejection from PBNZ and a suggestion to pursue undergrad all over again from a country which NZ recognizes sufficiently similar to their system can be really, in my opinion, a waste of time and undermining.
However, this possibility does not deter me from applying.
I will update as to how it goes if and when I can.
PLEASE do reply with your suggestions, and especially if there is any Indian physio (who completed BPT from India) out there who has procured registration with the NZ physio board, please share your suggestions and experience.
