any physio jobs in the UK?

Hi everybody!!! I am moving to the UK from Ireland in January. How are physiotherapy jobs for entry level physiotherapists?Is there still so much unemployment between new graduates?
I hope the situation is better than here (Ireland), no jobs at all at least you have years of msk experience... :-(

The scene in the UK is getting better. Maybe try looking on our jobs board before you arrive to see if someone can get you sorted with a locum ahead of time. Once you're in the system it's easier to move about within it. Check out www.physiobob.com for current vacancies.

P.S I see you're Spanish. You will need UK HPC registration to get a job in the UK

I would say yes in this regard. The situation is a bit better now. But still it is hard to find any physiotherapy jobs there. Hope it would be better now.

Hi everybody,

unfortunately according to my experience there isn't any physio job at the moment, It's been 3 months that i am unemployed and it is very difficult to get a job for me. All the employer usually reply to me that I do not have any experience in UK. Actually i started to work in NHS outpatients MSK and I got 2 months experience (because the contract finished). I am a 5 years experienced physio (in italy), I've got an MSc and I am an IFOMPT member.
So maybe there is something wrong with me guys. Anyway good luck to everybody!!!

True Tomaso, i am tired of sending application forms, cvs, etc. and all I get is rejections!! It seems that you need experience in the UK in order to get a job... Very disappointing!! Same in Ireland, you either have experience in the hse/hospital or your experience is not even considered. After 5 years of experience working in a nursing home and day centre some employers consider my experience worse than a new graduate.

I am a MSc physio from UK and looking for a physio job since last 5 months. Job search is trying my patience now. Is cracking a physio job in UK so difficult? I am applying for NHS jobs and also to locum jobs, but the agencies are looking for mandatory courses to be completed. the courses mentioned are health and safety and it cost upto £200/-. are these courses useful ahead or at least how much weight age do they carry in finding a job? any suggestions on job vacancies or any loop holes that i am missing for my search to be a success. kindly help.
