Hi, got two questions about physio jobs in Singapore, hope somebody may help ~~~~~~~
I have a first degree in Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in China and Master degree in Physiotherapy in the U.K. now planning to work as a physio in Singapore for few years first,
Q1: in the U.K. junior physio usually need to rotate ~ 2 years, then senir II then senir I,
wonder what's the classification of physio grades in Singapore
Q2: I'm interested in doing research on how acupuncture treats neuro conditions in the future, don't know if acupuncture/traditional chinese approach is widely used in rehab area in Singapore ?

Q1. Physio job grade will be quite similar but more simple to that in UK:
Physiotherapist
Senior Physiotherapist
Principal Physiotherapist
Senior Principal Physiotherapist
Department Manager
Diffeerent hospitals will have different fine-tuned job grading system. Sometimes one title will be divided into 2-3 job grades. Rotation will last about 1.5-2 years depends on the scope of hospital service.
Q2. In Singapore TCM is a registered health care profession but not for physio(!!!), there are private TCM clinics settled in Government hospitals. Some rehab physicians here will refer patients to TCM mainly for acupuncture for neurological conditions.
Physiotherapists here cannot use acupuncture/ dry needling in their practice because we are yet to be a registered profession. Hope scope of practice may have breakthrough when registration system is kicked off end of this year.
Hope can answer your question.
The most proactive physio in Singapore, JB, and some say Batam...;)
