working in UK?

I'm physiotherapy student from EU, graduating in June and planing to start work in September/October in UK. I have some questions about their system.
* For pay rates they use Bands. How are these bands appointed? Me as a freshly graduated, what band am I ?
* Most vacancy ads say that they need someone with experience (2 years is most common). So where do graduates start? They have to start from somewhere. Does anyone have similar experience with this?

I would really appreciate if someone has time to share their knowledges with me.

The situation in the UK for new graduates is terrible- 80% unemployment and rising. Hundreds cannot get their first job as there is no money for junior posts (and too many graduates)- that's why you haven't seen any vacancies for new graduates- there aren't any jobs! If by some chance a job does come up there are around 400 applicants for every job and I know of one job in London that had 1000 applications!! I'm graduating in November and am realistic that I won't get a job here for a while- I know people that have been looking for thier first physio job for 2-3years!! So do yourself a favour and look elsewhere, it's a nightmare here!

In fact a large proportion of UK graduates are having to move abroad to get work, so you're better off in the EU! Plus most of the jobs here now for graduates are not permanent- if you're lucky you might get a 6 month contract but most new grads are working off monthly (or even weekly!) contracts. It's so depressing here at the moment!!
