    ankle arthoscopy rehab

    Taping
Hi, just had ankle arthoscopy 3 days ago. 2 chunks of cartilage removed from left ankle. Has anyone else had this done and how long should my recovery take. i.e. when should i be able to walk and drive properly.

Also, should i swim, what exercises help. Need to get fit again soon.

I have to get other ankle done too in 4-5 weeks. I'm told I'll be out of football for 3 months. What else can i do to get my fitness levels up so I am ready in 3 months.

    Any advice? Thanks

    Re: ankle arthoscopy rehab

    Hi there,

As long as it is not contraindicated (restricted due to wound or other issues) swimming is a great idea. There are specific rehabilitative measures that can be taken while in the pool which can be provided by a physiotherapist specializing in hydrotherapy.

    Regards

Where did these chunks come from? The site of the damage will affect the speed and progress of the rehabilitation.
