    Market Share for Massage

    Taping
    Hi,

I am currently qualifying as a physiotherapist and I am particularly interested in massage therapies. Once I graduate I am thinking of setting up my own private practise specializing in massage therapies. However, does anybody have any information on the market size for massage or industry figures? All I can find onthe internet are reports which cost in excess of £300, or statistics relating to markets in the US. However, before I pay a lot of money to do the market research, I would just like to get a general feel for the size of this particular area of physiotherapy. Can anyone help?????

    Thanks, in advance, Maja

    Re: Market Share for Massage

I don't have exact numbers but one way to come up with those figures is to take a closer look at your area. How many massage therapists are there currently working? How many people are above, let's say 45 (likelihood of needing a massage therapist increases with age)? I'm pretty sure questions like that should provide a good insight of the market.

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
What I don't understand is why you would go to all the trouble of becoming a physiotherapist, merely to spend your time rubbing and kneading people's muscles. You could have saved yourself time and money and be well on your way to what satisfactions you may find there, with a six week course.
