    Question Rotation after Qualifying

    Taping
I am just about to start a MSc. Physiotherapy Pre-reg course and I am trying to find out if i can complete a year of my rotation abroad in New Zealand or Australia? Does anyone know. If I did a year abroad would it count?

    Re: Rotation after Qualifying

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
    Hi Izzy-Wizzy

I don't know about Australia but here in NZ the usual arrangement is that you can complete a limited term - eg 6 weeks. Likewise our students can do this overseas and at our university student can do this as part of an elective clinical practice paper once they have completed all their core placements in their final year.

However it is up to your educational institution to let you know what they would allow you to do. Arrangements may be more flexible if you were doing a post grad course but as you would be doing an entry level course this would be limited.

If your institution allows you to have an overseas experience then you can proceed with enquiries. The NZ Physio board has to to know and approve of it. Usually one of the two universities here take a role overseeing the placement.
