    Re: Falls in Elderly

    You may want to contact St Martins Community Hospital in Bath. They hold a falls group which sounds similar to the one you are wanting to set up. The address and telephone No. is as follows;
    St MARTINS HOSPITAL , BATH
    Midford Road, Bath BA2 5RP
    Tel 01225 832383
    If you ask to speak to someone from the Falls Clinic hopefully they will be able to help.
    Good luck in setting up the service, Michael.

    Re: Falls in Elderly

    Try contacting the Lambeth Community Care Centre in London (part of Lambeth PCT - sorry I can't remember the details) - they run an extensive falls service with input from a consultant from Guy's and St. Thomas's. They will be able to provide you with an outline of their program as well as the outcome measures they use etc.
    The Otago program is also used by them but on an outpatient basis with regular monitoring for those who are more motivated and lower risk. The program for the group is slightly different and is geared to higher risk patients and those with cognitive problems. They were reviewing the service approx. 1 year ago so may have updated since I was last there.

    Smile Re: Falls in Elderly

    I have just recently written a good overview of the subject on my blog page. Feel free to have a look at it. Hope it's not too late.
