omt - Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy- was founded by James Cyriax, Olaf Evjenth, Walter Hinsen, Freddy Kaltenborn and Allan Stoddard among others in 1973, as part of the International Seminar of Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapists (ISOMT). In Australia the OMT concept is taught at Charles Sturt University- Albury as a Distance Education Masters Degree. It utilises the OMT Kaltenborn-Evenjth concept primarily, however, there have been some modifications to the approach in terms of the theoretical and practical components.
