So I am here in the USA with no health insurance. I am post op 8 weeks from weber c with 8 screws and a plate. I was in cast for 6 weeks, then full weight bearing with cam walker. Understand, I have no doctor, no therapist, you people on here are all I have. So this cam walker is doing what it is supposed to do. My doctor said 1 month in cam walker, come up with 400 dollars for the next visit and come back. I guess if everything is fine I stop using the cam walker in one month. So my question is, what do I look for when deciding to stop the cam walker. Today for the first time I walked from the kitchen to the bathroom bare foot. I had no pain, it was stiff, but no pain. Maybe I can just wear the walker outside, or during certain activities that may put me at risk. I understand ligaments take 3 months to heal, so maybe I am just really taking a big chance here. But, if there was a problem I should have pain or something. I have spent under 5 minutes with my doctor in over 2 months. She walks in, everything looks real good, then spins around and walks out. After I have waited like 3 hours.
