registering to work in Australia

Hey just wondering can anyone give me guidance on applying to work as a physiotherapist in OZ?

I have completed a 4 year degree and have been working as a physio for 1 and a 1/2 years. I have a permanent job but hoping to apply for a career break and head out to Auz in Jan 2011. I havent fuilly looked into the registration process but was wondering can you still apply for registration in NZ and then go straight to Australia to work? I know the documents have changed since the last year and would be grateful if someone who has up-to-date information could point me in the right direction i.e websites to look at ...etc.

I also read somewhere registration is being stopped from July 2010...is this registration with NZ board or somewhere else?

Any help would be great guys

Hi,
you can still aply for registration in NZ.

A national registration scheme will start in Australia in July 2010. I don't know the ins and outs of that, but am sure that you will not be able to apply for a state registration from then on, only for the Australian registration. But that will be much better, anyway!
