I would have thought the boy would be in plaster at 15 days post facture? Delayed union is an individual issue but as we all know bones respond better with some form of weight bearing and magnetic therapy (IMR) etc has shown to accelerate bone healing. If in plaster and the paster is good and stable, you could open a small window in the plaster and use muscle stim to generate a small quads contraction to minimise wasting and simulate load along the bone. I find this useful in all traumatic LL fratures that you know are going to be a long rehab road to recovery..Good Luck
