hi there,

I had a patient today ( female, 58years of age ) diagnosed with a bone bruise in metatarsal 3 by Wikipedia reference-linkmri.
The doctor was also not sure if the patient might develop CRPS.

There was no incident of a trauma. In Novemver the patient was walking downhill from a Mountain for four hours. Since then she had problems with her foot, sometimes it was better, sometimes worse.
Since end of december she has clear inflammation signs, like swelling in the evening, redness and pain.
Besides this she has no trophic changes which would lead to CRPS.
Walking gives her pain and she has all the time a irritating feeling. She also has the feeling that her 2nd and 3rd toe are numb.
Since December there is no improvement.
I read some literature about bone bruise and most of it says that there are no valid treatment forms and that it will heal spontaneously within weeks or even months.
Has anybody experience with this kind of patient and what are possible treatment objectives???

Thank you
