    Vestibular rehabilitation physio wanted

    Taping
    Dear Sirs
I hope you can help. For the last 3-4 years I have been suffering from a balance/dizziness disorder which has now been diagnosed as vestibular failure after years of been pushed from pillar to post. I have been referred for more tests but have already been told that I will need an injection of gentamicin in the affected ear. This does seem drastic and I would like to make it a last effort if only from the point of view of near or total deafness in the on ear, as well as the rehabilitation from the procedure and of course the risk of it not working.

The problem seems to affect some people at odd occasions, but I have the problem, all the waking day, have problems getting to sleep because of the motion I have, and generally feel bad because of it, it is now affecting my work, as well as my social life.
Searching the net I have found a lot of talk about vestibular rehabilitation but I am having problems locating a physio near to my home in Cannock in Staffordshire, but I am prepared to travel if need be.
Can you help, perhaps even if its just to point me in the right direction as to who can help me. Your help would be very much welcomed. Thank you in anticipation

    Kind regards
    Phil Allen

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
    Hi Samy

Many thanks for your kind reply to my posting on the Physiobob forum.

I have sent a reply through their email facility, but not sure if you will get that ok, depends on where the email goes to.

If you havent got that, in answer to your question no I have not had any response. I have had all sorts of suggestions from doctors, including the last one which was to inject gentamicin into my right ear to 'kill' off the balance mechansim. and 'hopefully' the balance centre the other side will compensate. The side effects are that I will feel bad for a short period of time as this compensation takes effect, and I will go stone deaf on that side. I hope you understand I am not that excited with that treatment.

If you want more information, or feel that you may be able to help, perhaps a chat first would be worthwhile.

    Thanks again for your contact.

    Kind regards

    Phil Allen
