Go, but don't drink and don't dance. Or better still ask him for a lunch ahead of that time :-)
Hi,
i am 5 weeks post acl reconstruction (hamstring graft) this Friday I have a friends leaving do and I imagine he will want to go to a pub then nightclubbing.
Would it be wise to go, will I damage my graft?
im tempered to not go but he is leaving to go the other side of the world!
thanks

Hiya,
I am just 14 weeks following the same ACL reconstruction with a meniscal repair. Being a physio myself I expected a full, easy recovery...followed all the elements of the protocol and still found myself having to pull back and regroup and take it easy on three separate occassions, having to stop any activity beyond my protocol exercises. So, my advice to you would echo physio bob's above. Go,if you can not drink, stay aware, present and mind your knee. And if you think you'll find that too hard to do,getting caught up in the moment, and bounce around like a loon, then have lunch together. It's not worth the frustration and possible re-injury you might do.
Best of luck,Rachael
